Welcome back to the blog! In this post, I’m going to give you an inside look at one of the most exciting acting workshops I’ve taken so far—Tween On-Camera Acting with Disney & Nickelodeon Casting Director Wendy Faraone. As a young actor with big dreams, this class was a game-changer for me. If you’re a fellow actor looking to hone your on-camera skills, especially for shows on Disney or Nickelodeon, this workshop is definitely worth checking out.
Wendy Faraone’s Tween On-Camera Acting Workshop is designed specifically for young actors like me who want to break into the world of TV acting, particularly on networks like Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. The class focuses on how to perform naturally and confidently in front of the camera while delivering lines in a way that fits the tone and style of these family-friendly networks. I learned how to adjust my acting style to match the energetic and fast-paced nature of Disney and Nickelodeon shows, which was really fun!
Wendy is a well-known casting director for both Disney and Nickelodeon, so she knows exactly what these networks are looking for in young actors. She shared a lot of valuable insights during the workshop, and I’m excited to share my experience with you.
From the moment the workshop started, I could tell it was going to be a special experience. Wendy is super energetic and made the class feel welcoming from the start. She really knows how to communicate with young actors and get the best performance out of them. Throughout the class, we practiced on-camera acting techniques that were both challenging and rewarding.
One of the best parts of the workshop was the scene work. We were given actual scripts used in Disney and Nickelodeon shows and had the chance to act them out on camera. This was my favorite part because I got to see what it would be like to perform in an audition for these networks. Wendy gave us helpful feedback after each take, pointing out what we did well and what we could improve. Her advice was always spot-on and super encouraging.
Another highlight of the workshop was learning about the importance of energy and timing when acting for these networks. Disney and Nickelodeon shows often have a comedic and fast-paced style, so it’s important to bring a lot of energy to your performance. Wendy taught us how to deliver our lines quickly and with the right amount of enthusiasm, which really helped me step up my game as an actor.
This workshop taught me several key skills that I’ll take with me into my next auditions:
Overall, I highly recommend Wendy Faraone’s Tween On-Camera Acting Class to any young actor who dreams of being on Disney or Nickelodeon. It’s not only a great way to learn the technical side of on-camera acting, but it’s also a fun and encouraging environment to grow as an actor. Wendy is a fantastic teacher with tons of experience, and her insights have made me feel more prepared and confident going into auditions for these networks.
If you’re serious about acting for TV, especially for kid-friendly networks, this workshop is a must. I left the class feeling more energized and excited about my future auditions. I can’t wait to put everything I’ve learned into practice!
